Container Gardening -- Claire House, September, 2011
Sponsored by the Bayou Vista Garden Club Youth Committee, the children of the residents at Claire House in Bayou Vista recently planted the barrels placed in front of the facility. In conjunction with the National Garden Club projects, “Plantings for Public and Special Places” and "Container Gardens," the children sowed the seeds for a vegetable garden. They planted lettuce and radish seeds and were taught how to garden with food so that the produce is safe to eat. Pictured, far right, with the children is BVGC Youth Committee Chairman Ann Breaux.
