National Garden Week--Book Donations and NGW Proclamation--June, 2016
In support of National Garden Week, June 5-11, 2016, Bayou Vista Garden Club donated three books to the Bayou Vista Branch Library: “The Frightened Frog -- an Environmental Tale” by Brenda Moore, Jean Ohlmann, and National Garden Clubs, Inc.; “Small Space Gardening” by Melinda Myers; and “New York Times 1000 Gardening Questions and Answers”, based on the New York Times column “Garden Questions and Answers,” with additional material by Leslie Land.
St. Mary Parish Councilman, District 4, Glen Hidalgo and Bayou Vista Garden Club President Donna Bucci signed a proclamation designating June 5-11 as National Garden Week. In support of National Garden Week, Bayou Vista Garden Club donated the Southern Living Landscape Book to the Bayou Vista Branch Library. The book, edited by Steve Bender, Sr., is a complete guide for a well-designed home landscape. It presents the concepts and principles followed by most of America's great landscape designers. |

NGW Book Donation--Bayou Vista Branch Library
In support of NGW, Bayou Vista Garden Club donated three books to the Bayou Vista Branch Library. The books presented to librarian Dana Robin are A Guide to Natural Gardening by Jim Knope; The Rose Book by Maggie Oster; and Holiday Happening edited by Barbara May, NGC President 2000-2001. A Louisiana Native Plant poster was also donated. BVGC brochures are available for anyone interested in club membership. |
