2013 Deep South & NGC Awards (Presented at 2014 Summer Board)

Bayou Vista Garden Club was the recipient of several awards at the recent Louisiana Garden Club Federation Summer Board meeting in Baton Rouge.  The Deep South Region awards presented to BVGC were Award #27i-Road Beautification, first place plus $25.00 and Award #18i-Adopt A Park, second place.  National Garden Club President Linda Nelson presented an NGC Award of Appreciation for the participation of Bayou Vista Garden Club in NGC projects.

BVGC President Donna Bucci announced the Louisiana Garden Club Federation awards presented to Bayou Vista Garden Club at the recent state convention. BVGC was one of six garden clubs in the LGCF recognized for fulfilling all the accomplishments for the four Non-Competitive Awards:  #1- Garden Club Achievement- Gold Seal with Ribbon, #5B- Horticulture Honor Roll- Gold Seal, #11C- Special Conservation Award, and #17- Arbor Day Award.   In Competitive Awards BVGC received #2A- Yearbook - Honorable Mention,#6 - Jo N. Evans Roadside Improvement- 1st Place and $25.00, #15- Valerie Barnum Civic Development Award- 1st Place and $25.00, and #22- Yearbook- 2nd Place- small clubs.

The Bayou Vista Garden Club May meeting was highlighted by the presentation of awards.  Donna Bucci, BVGC Vice-President, announced awards presented at the Louisiana Garden Club Federation (LGCF) Convention.  In the LGCF noncompetitive awards, BVGC received Garden Club Achievement-Gold Seal with gold ribbon, Horticulture Honor Roll-Gold Seal, Arbor Day Certificate of Merit, and Special Conservation Award.  In the competitive awards category, BVGC was presented with Publicity Press Book, 3nd Place and Yearbook Award of Recognition.  BVGC would like to thank The Daily Review for assisting BVGC in accomplishing its publicity goal.
